Halloween is almost here. You know what that means, right? Zombie, zombies and more zombies! This year Spirit Halloween has a new zombie prop out and it’s not like other zombie animatronics they’ve done in previous years. If you haven’t yet seen Tortured Torso, here he is in all his glory.

I have to be upfront before we go any further, I’m not really a zombie guy. I watch the Walking Dead but I can’t seem to get excited about zombie animatronics for my home haunt in October. So when I first saw Tortured Torso online he wasn’t the top prop on my list. However, when I saw him in person in the store I was really impressed and immediately became intrigued at all the possibilities on where I could put him in my yard this October. Unlike other props you see online Tortured Torso’s price point is a very reasonable $129.99, so I didn’t have an excuse when it came to price.
When activated the prop begins to twitch and make moaning zombie-like sounds. The animatronic also begins flailing his head back and forth due to the extreme discomfort he is in.
After I put Tortured Torso together I asked my wife to come check him out. When she walked outside she smiled and said, “Oh, wow!”
Tortured Torso is pretty simple, but sometimes simple is good. I like the fact that he hangs from his wrists. This gives me options on where I can put him and how to use him. The blood stain on the bottom of his shirt is a very nice touch too. It’s almost like something came along and ripped the lower part of his body off. Whoever thought of that deserves a pat on the back.
When I saw the prop at my local Spirit Halloween someone had placed a beanie on his head and made him look even more realistic. I really thought it was a nice touch.
At $129.99 Tortured Torso is a fairly inexpensive prop compared to others Spirit Halloween has put out this year. Despite being cheaper, they didn’t cut any corners and it’s very much a high quality prop. I’m not a zombie guy but I definitely give Tortured Torso 5 out of 5 stars. If you are into zombie animatronics you definitely need to add him to your collection. Your friends and family will love him!
