October is almost upon us and if you are as excited about all the new Halloween props over at SpiritHalloween.com as I am you can hardly wait. One of my favorite new props for 2019 is an animatronic called Headless Help. If you aren’t quite familiar with the creepy butler who lost his head please check out the video below.
When I first saw Headless Help online after Spirit Halloween rolled him out last month I was intrigued but had my eye on other props like Crouchy and Waving Wally. However, when I saw him up close at my local Spirit Halloween I was immediately blown away by how well done he was and how realistic he looked. Standing at 5’4 (minus his head) Headless Help is surprising tall and his aged white-grayish-blue suit makes him super creepy.
5.4 Ft Headless Help Animatronic – Decorat…
Preston loved working as a butler. He did his job with passion, and it really showed. O… [More]
Two things really jumped out at me about Headless Help that I believe makes him stand out over a lot of new props this year. Unlike most props the headless butler’s eyes blink while he talks. His mouth also moves too as he speaks. I can’t overstate these small, almost overlooked features enough. Some larger props can get away without having their mouth move when they speak because they are so big and there’s so much to look at and take in. However, when your friends notice Headless Help their eyeballs are going to be glued to his head. That’s when the attention to detail with the eyes and mouth really stands out. Spirit Halloween really did a very thorough job with this prop.
When activated by a step pad or the sensor in his shirt the animated butler says several phrases.
“I told my barber I wanted a new cut, so he started with my neck.”
“There’s only one difference between myself and an undertaker: They take care of the dead and I make sure they never run out of corpses.”
“Please forgive the centuries of dust on me. It’s the only thing holding me together.”
“You know, I see so many people come in here, but I never see any of them leave.”
Now, I know what you are thinking, “A headless butler that blinks and has a mouth that moves when he talks? Take my money!” But wait there’s more!
I didn’t realize it until I unboxed Headless Help, but he comes with a microphone. As I pulled the mic from the box I was a little perplexed as to what it was for. Then I noticed on the instructions that you could speak into it and the sound would come from the prop. Even better, his mouth moves as he is talking. I already liked Headless Help but after I played with the microphone I instantly moved the animated butler to the top of the list of new props for 2019.
I am almost giddy at the thought of having him on my front porch on Halloween night as I watch children approach my house through the window. I cannot wait to use the microphone to personally greet each one and compliment them on their costume as they approach my front door!
Given the high quality of Headless Help’s overall presentation combined with the mind-melting microphone trick that will leave your friends speechless, the $229.99 price point Spirit Halloween is selling him for is very, very reasonable. Had I known about the microphone ahead of time I would have assumed Headless Help would sell for $299+.
I give Headless Help 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend him for 2019. You can find the prop at your local Spirit Halloween store as well as SpiritHalloween.com.
